Abstract
This paper considers a significant contribution to the improvement of compressors by scientific schools, founded by Academician G. F. Proskura and his student – Honored Worker of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor V. N. Yershov. It is shown that specific speed is a fairly convenient sign of recognition of the type and optimal shape of a compressor impeller, pump, fan, to ensure its maximum efficiency, the necessary pressure, and air consumption.
Keywords: compressor, efficiency, speed ratio, blade elongation
